Just that phrase alone sparks debate, philosophy, even anger. Are there enough women influencing the top echelons of the sport? If not, why not, and what can be done about it? Women in Motorsport.

Yvonne Yap is the unfamiliar name to everyone but a unique identity in the world of Motorsports. Motorsport is one of the few sporting activities in which men and women can compete alongside each other on an equal footing, yet as they currently make up only eight percent of registered licence holders, women are hugely under-represented among competitors.

You must first love the machine, the speed and the whole of motorsport.

I did not wake up one morning and transform overnight from a noob to motoring publicist but determination, persistence and frequent personal reminders of my dream concocted the position I am in today.

If motorsport is ever going to achieve its full potential as a product, it needs to appeal to and be inclusive of the widest possible demographic. That means it’s just as important to engage women as it is men.

People laughed at me when I started writing about cars but it took a few to notice I am into something.Lately, I get emails from unknown racers asking me how to find budgets. From photo shooting, public appearances arrangements and lots of PR works need to be done. I stay up until the early hours finishing proposals for sponsors. That’s the kind of commitment you need. I admit I am very fortunate to be fast enough and in the right place at the right time, but it's proof that it is achievable. I honestly think it’s just a matter of time before the balance is a lot more even, but whether that’s 10 years, 20 years or even longer than that, I just don’t know.
Every human being only lives once, so why not live life doing what you love? There is endless truth to the saying, “Do what you love and you won’t work a day in your life.”

Imagine the dream, believe the dream, and endlessly pursue the dream.

One can choose to be their biggest cheerleader or their own worst enemy. Each person has unique talents and capabilities; capitalising on and maximising your skills are valuable assets to making your dream a reality.

It was a message which combined both respect for the past and hope for the future.

Achieving personal dreams can be daunting, but each individual’s goals are what set them apart as unique. Challenge yourself to imagine the dream, believe the dream, and endlessly pursue the dream.

Because what is life without dreams and what is living without pursuit?

Recently, I have been receiving tonnes of press release written by Fucktards. Press releases are a presentation of facts that are sent to media in the hope that they will get published and turned into stories. Correct me if I am wrong.

How you write a press release is determined by the 'who, what, when, where, why and how?', i.e. what's the story about? When's it happening? Who's involved? Where's it taking place? How is it happening? Why is it happening? So when you've painstakingly put together your own press release only to find that nothing gets published, how do you find out where you're going wrong? Hello?

MY MOST HATED! You used a PDF……….PDFs are an absolute pain for any members of the media. They are difficult to extract information from and are so annoying that I simply delete any press releases I receive in this format. Seems harsh but they take up so much of my time that I have grown to despise them. I cannot emphasise this enough..PLEASE do not use PDFs.

if you have issue churning a good piece of a press release. Please give me a call, I will reckon a good Editorial Strategist for you. Your press release requires an entire re-write? Biggest Joke of the day. I received some press releases are so poorly written that it's difficult to understand what they are actually about.

Don’t becoming a pain in the arse for everyone..If someone is constantly nagging a writer with questions like 'when is my story going to get published?', then they'll be more inclined to move your press release straight to the trash can. Let's face it! None of us likes to be hassled. It only leaves a bad taste in our mouths. To keep the writer sweet, don't chase too much and don't become a pain. Respect them and understand that you can't secure coverage for everything, as it's really up to them.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The young people on the streets of the Kuala Lumpur all have a story to tell of how they ended up there: glam lifestyle, corporate ladder, and some battling to survive by their wits. This is my story – a day at Detailing University.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">“Everyone loves cruising around in a clean car, but it takes a lot of work.” I don’t think anybody can deny, you climb into your car after it’s been dirty and now it’s nice and clean inside and out–it definitely makes you feel good.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A full day of scrubbing off bugs, cleaning tires, vacuuming seats, and polishing and drying the car while being careful not to mix the special designated towels, it’s clear the job is best left to the professionals.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I love my own car. I really do. It has its quirks, sure, and they can be annoying to deal with at times but find me a car that isn’t like that. You have to take the good with the not so good.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Because I love my weekend car , I try to keep it as clean as I can. Living in Malaysia, doing so can be difficult. With tropical country that leave our roads looking like impassable potholes and dirt's, there are times when many cars in this country share the same dirty shade of salt-stained white.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I often take my own car to a roadside wash booth (usually on the weekend) for a pressure wash bath and a good vacuuming. I’ve done so for years and my cars have been kept reasonably clean as a result.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">But, recently I found out that I could learn more about caring my car through The Chemical Guys Malaysia approach to car detailing is holistic, covering everything inside and out, including the engine bay (home to a lot of grime, in my case).
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">First up, my weekend car was thoroughly rinsed to get some of the surface dirt off and prepare it for washing.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Chemical Guys Malaysia recommend inspecting the paint at the beginning of the driving season in order to determine whether it needs to be cleaned with a clay bar. In most cases, the answer is yes, and it was different from my case because the car was brand new from Volkswagen showroom.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">What is a Clay bar? A clay bar removes layers of dirt from the paint so the finish can be properly cleaned. The clay bar should never be used on a dry surface, hence the need for Clay Bar Lube, a Chemical Guys product that helps the clay bar pick up dirt. After using it, the surface of some old car was noticeably smoother and ready to be washed.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">After a thorough rinsing, it was time to get my hands wet and wash my weekend car.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">They recommended using a two-bucket system – one bucket with soap and water (Chemical Guys’ Citrus Wash & Gloss, in this instance) and one with only water, which will be used for rinsing. The reason for doing so is simple: it keeps the dirty water (and the harsh abrasives it contains) from coming into contact with the car’s surface, which can damage the paint.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">After washing and rinsing the car a few times, including a couple that involved the use of a foam cannon hooked up to an air compressor (a first for me) FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, this car was looking much, much cleaner than it had ever been before I picked him up at the showroom. Chemical Guys used a wheel dressing product to make my weekend rubber shine like new.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

When you talk about racing most people think of a four wheels not two. But Joey Teo Yew Joe has had passion in the two wheel motorsports from as far as he can remember. Back then, it was a norm that bikes were disapproved and the reason would normally be because of safety. However, with passion fueling him, he went ahead to chase his dream even willing to sneak over to his friend’s house to watch his all-time idol Wayne Rainey and Schwantz, Doohan.

No matter how many challenges he faced in pursuing his dreams, he never gave up. He managed to raise enough money from his first job and bought an Aprilia RS250. Now buying a bike and riding one are two completely different things. Joey had little knowledge on how to ride a bike, let alone race and almost met with a fatal accident when he first took it out for a spin.

His first race was of course in Sepang International Circuit which was also his first wipeout at Turn 1 due to the lack of experience. Even with that incident, Joey did not give up and continued to learn and practice in order to overcome his shortcomings.

in 2011, he saved up to buy his second bike, the ZX6R. His mentor William Chean had just passed away in 2010, which got him thinking that life was too short to keep on dreaming and he decided to participate in a race organised by Sepang International Circuit, The Malaysian Super Series.

In the pack, I saw this yellow CBR 1000rr who took a faster line than the rest and on stock fairings, taped lights, stock standard out of the showroom, racing with the rest of the power pack. He made it to the top 5! I told myself that I want to be as skilled as this guy one day and as fate may have it, the following year I met this man who changed my life forever, Mr Lee Ching Hooi,”said Joey.

With passion driving Joey, he worked hard practicing with Lee on a dirt track, he was far from being the fastest on the track but Lee was very patient with him. Week after week, Joey toiled through practice to make it to his first race and in 2011, he made 2.30 above per lap and was then Azlan Shah and Zamri Baba's back marker.

Joey raced with Sportsrider from 2012-2014 and was a paying rider and in 2015. After that he left Sportsrider to go to TWG garage. As luck would have it, Full Throttle offered up theirHonda CB600 race bike for sale, and he bought the bike. In WorldSBK it was his first ride on the Honda, a significantly slower bike but he made his first 2:16. 2015 ended as it is and in early 2016, Joey left TWG to start his own team.

He will be racing for PRIVATEERS in his Honda CBR 600 in the Supersport A category, Pirelli Malaysia Superbike Championship. Be sure to catch him racing this weekend at Sepang Circuit and check him out - #16.

“My passion and my dream have been a big part for me living my life, to the fullest, my way. Make sure you never look back and regret but keep overcoming hurdles and challenges you face and forward.” - Joey Teo, #16 PRIVATEERS.

With income attached to advertising dollars, driver salaries are directly tied to the popularity of the sport. For those with talent, it's a natural, step-by-step process.

As I stepped back into motorsports scene. The questions from everyone are getting more and more complicated. Years ago, people would to ask me “When will you publish my articles”? Or alternatively “Hey, remember those press releases”

Now, people would to ask me “what is your 2017 plan for your two racers?, will they be racing in international series? , How much do they earn?”

First comes the desire to drive racing cars. Then, with a verifiable display of talent and success, comes the desire to get paid to drive those racing cars.
The desire part is easy. And the getting paid part? It gets harder every year, even for proven winners and past champions.

It was a very different era, tobacco money was a big part of things; it paid for so much of the racing and as a knock-on effect, the driver salaries. But with all of the sporting bans on tobacco advertising, you really saw all that money dry up rather quickly. And, to be fair, it was never really replaced.

I learned of one race-winning Series driver, a person driving for a well-funded team who had been making 5,000,000 per year to ply his trade, which seems like a paltry sum with the risks involved of racing at over 300kmph on circuits and north of 180 kmph on some road and street courses between 16 and 19 times a year.

Tobacco makers have been barred from sponsorship nearly everywhere. What hits closest to home for us is motorsports. But why were they banned? They gave good salaries to drivers. Some notion that it'll make people healthier? Well, it's bullshit and we need them back. Now.

First, let me name all the cons that come with letting cigarette companies sponsor motorsports:...ummmm. Oh, maybe some people will choose on their own to begin smoking even though they know all of the health risks?
Ok, with that out of the way, let me name some of the specialists.

Budgets: Cigarette companies make boat loads of cash. Boat loads. Their investment in motorsports led to unprecedented levels of growth and investment. I have no doubt that Formula One is on the level that it is now thanks to the investment and promotion that was afforded to the series through decades of tobacco involvement.

Drivers: With big budgets came amazing drivers. Ever wish that we didn't need pay drivers in any series? Cigarettes are the answer. Teams would have money to hire who they pleased, not every dicks that comes to the door with a bucket of cash and the unique ability to crash into everything. It wouldn't eliminate pay drivers, but it sure would slow down the epidemic.

Liveries: Holy crap. The liveries. Marlboro McLaren and Team Penske. John Player Special Team Lotus. Gitanes Ligier. Rothmans Porsche and Williams. Mild Seven Benetton. These are the liveries you remember when you think of motorsports. Now what do we have? Energy drinks and banks.

Lifestyle: Smoking is dangerous. Racing is dangerous. If ever there was a sport that cigarettes could be related to, it's motorsports. No matter what safety advances there have been in racing, it's still an unbelievably dangerous undertaking, like smoking. But the drivers are so health conscious these days that you won't see Vettel lighting up a Virginia Slim after a race win or Button taking a drag of a West when he's passed by Kevin Magnussen. However, you will see Kimi Raikkonen constantly smoking Marlboro Reds because that's just what I imagine Kimi would do.

A cigarette sponsorship of a racing team does not immediately mean that you need to start smoking. You are still allowed to think for yourself. See, you have a brain which allows you to have independent thought. You don't need to be part of a collective that sees a cigarette sponsorship and then goes off and smokes themselves to death. Nope. You can do whatever you want!

For all the risks that come with the job, you'd like to see guys making more than a greater value for what they must do to earn that money. You could say the salaries reflect the times, but that doesn't change the inherent danger in what we do. Those two points seem to be going farther away than coming together.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Getting the best time or a podium
finish may make for a successful race car driver, but that alone is not enough.
Attitude and personality make a great driver. When you think of an F1 driver,
don’t Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton immediately come to mind, for some
of you? People remember great people not just for their achievements, but for
their personality and attitude. Albeit F1 drivers, they are nonetheless considered
race car drivers with great character.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">For KL-ite William Ho, some of his
life experiences have spurred him towards his passion for racing. A single
father of one, he has learnt to juggle life - holding a full time job and also
indulging in his passion for racing, all at the same time. William drives for KOLEJ

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">William’s passion for wheels
started off with bicycles, not cars, surprisingly. According to him, this was when
he was in secondary school, before getting his driver’s licence. His best mate
in school was the first between them to get a driver’s licence and a car, and
with that, the two friends fed their need for speed, like many boys do. The
adrenaline rush was a lure – and lured into racing William was.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">William put his racing dream on
hold when marriage and family came along. Not that he complained, but the idea
of racing did not occur to him due to his commitments – until a turning point
in his life. Devastated by a divorce and on the brink of depression, he needed
to find himself again – and the opportunity came when one of his friends then
asked him, “Would you like to race for me?” He did not spend much time
pondering what was in store for him, but simply answered yes. Today, he thanks
his friend for that opportunity, and has not looked back since. William Ho was
back on the race track, enjoying every moment of it and now sharing that passion
and joy with his son.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">William relishes every moment when he crosses
the finish line and sees his son beaming with pride and happiness, cheering on
his father. If there is one lesson William can take from his life experiences, it
is that even if you are down and out and everything seems to have been taken
from you, no one can take away your dream.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This is the story of William Ho -
race car driver, single father, a simple man with a big dream and affable
personality - and that makes him just as great. His message to all is ‘Work
hard, chase your passions and dreams, and no matter the hardships, things will work
out in the end. All things are possible!’

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When I tell someone I’m “proud” of you or you achievements on podium in a situation, I’m not stating this out of a sense of ownership and propriety of them. What “I’m proud of you” is saying is for one reason or another, I relate to you and your experience. I feel similar to you in some way, and seeing someone like me do what you just did makes me proud of that identity I share with you.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I’m a huge fan of motorsports. I always hide myself in media center of race circuit because there is no reason for me to find who’s wining. So on game day you can typically find me deck out at the pits cheering for you. We are connected to a common thing we share. Seeing you win is seeing a team with whom I relate win. To say “I’m proud of you William Ho” is saying the team race well.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">To say you’re proud of someone is to say that you can relate to them and, if in their shoes, you would be proud of the accomplishment.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The expected response is a humble and grateful ‘Thank-you.’ I respond ‘Why? I didn’t do it for you. I did it for myself.’ Remember that William, you are doing it all for yourself.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When you live in the public eye, when you make you’re living on television, the radio, the Internet, or anywhere you’re placed regularly in front of people, your audience will build a sense of familiarity with you. They watch the same motorsports news channels because we like the personalities of the anchors.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When you stand in front of a group, like it or not, you immediately become a proxy representative of individuals within that group who relate to you either by common background, shared experience, or even just perceived similarity. You become a symbol of what “someone like me” can achieve. Whether you did something for yourself or others, your achievement is still reflected as something achieved by “someone like me or I want to be like him one day.”
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Who you did “it” for is beyond the point. The fact is you accomplished something and someone else was inspired by your accomplishment.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">You are suddenly transformed. A wave of excitement and joyful anticipation washes over you. The day is going to be amazing, filled with surprises, fun, and celebration. You feel fully alive at that moment. Is that peak experience of living really possible on a regular basis? Yes it is. I have it in my own life, and I see it in others every day.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">You will never be my marketing tool, you are someone that I want you to know that you are worth more than anything else. Don’t drift away by your pain, there always be someone who want to see you smile again and say “ I am proud of you and your achievement”
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">You are a jerk, you dragged me back to Motorsport along with you. It is time for you pay it back by giving me the proudest moment of yours.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I am proud of you!

This a very dangerous sport. It always has been, how many people we know that are no longer with us? The drivers, the riders, I fully aware of that. Every time they hop into that race car or a bike, I don't know if they are going to come out of it .If they are going to come out of it in one piece. I knew it, the moment I decided to manage 2 racers at one go. The come back to Motorsports is way painful.

That's what I have to live with and that's what makes me different than other people. Not everybody can do this. It is tough, it's never easy to see a friend of yours get hurt or lose a friend of yours. But this is the sport I chose. Fate brought 3 of us together.

Not to be rude to anybody in the track but if you don't feel comfortable with that, then I think they should not be in the race car or bike.

In regards to the fact that most of these wrecks are ending up with cars upside down. When people crash, anything can happen. And those were four completely different accidents. I trust the engineers, the guys who build the aero kits. I'm not concerned. I'm ready to put my driver on a good engagement show for the fans that are coming here to watch him race. Accidents happen and we hate them, but its part of our job.

I would be talking about something that I don't fully understand so my opinion is irrelevant. What I do understand is that when they crash, they have a risk to flip. Especially bike, there is no such thing as roll cage.

Am I willing to take that emotional risk? ... 100%? We come as a team, we go home as a team. You both are now mine.

It's like when you're little and you fall off your bicycle and your dad puts you right back on and says go ride it.

When the day finally come, I think it’s unsafe I will feel the fear, I can be anywhere in the world’s circuits, without anyone but my racer and my team and I will feel scare, that is the day you see me on the other side of the camera. I am their publicist, they are my racers, and I want to see them race, that is the emotional fear that I need to bear and hold.

This is how three of us are wired. This is who we are.

Do you guys ever Drift?”

Another common question way too common, actually is, “What do you do if you need to go to the bathroom during a race?”

The answer to that one is always the same: You don’t want to know.

From an outsider’s perspective, stock car racing probably appears to be a really simple sport. If you only flip on a race for 15 seconds before you change the channel, then it probably appears to just be cars going in circuit really fast. And what’s special about that?

I’ve had plenty of people tell me, “Hey, I’ve driven down the highway at 200km per hour a couple of times! I can be a track driver!”I’ve heard it all.

It’s difficult to explain to people why what he do for a living is very different from your everyday speed demon doing 75 down the interstate. That’s because he one of the fortunate few who have actually experienced it. A lot of people have swung a balls. Plenty have attempted a long three-pointer. But not many people have been behind the wheel of a machine that’s built to test the very limits of physics.

Going fast is definitely a crucial aspect to being successful as a driver, but the real art of the sport is in the preparation necessary to get a car and a driver ready to move at speeds of up to 200 kmp for several hours. Many of the technologies found in everyday vehicles today were first used on our race cars. Cars are such an incredibly crucial component of our society, and as track drivers, we’re at the forefront of testing their limits.

That’s what makes this sport special.

I’ve heard some people describe what he do as a weekend job. I wish that was true. The reality is that if you want to race at this level, you’re going to have to work seven days a week. And even when you’re not working, you need to be thinking about racing, because your competitors definitely will be.
The climb to a championship is a thorny mountain. It’s not supposed to be easy. That’s what makes it special.

I’ve heard some people describe what he does as a weekend job. I wish that was true.

2 years ago, I saw him preparing for his race pretty much as soon as the last one ends. It’s out of necessity as much as anything. I don’t have the best memory, so after a race, while things are still fresh in my mind. I like to sit and ask him and run through his mental inventory of everything I saw and felt inside of the car.

Over time I’ve somewhat figured it out track by track. The perfect example THERE IS NO MONSTER ENGINE, THERE IS A MONSTER DRIVER RACING OUT THERE.

He could always go fast in practice and qualify well there, but I believe he struggled with the car during the race. I do think he had trouble figuring out how to manage his tires and generally where and how to pass people at the right times. But he worked at it, tinkered with his skill, and two years ago he won there. Standing on the podium with his glory smile which I smirk and said “ dammit, he did it”

CLOCKING THE FASTEST....WHAT ELSE TO SAY?

Today I feel confident heading to any track, but only because I went through the process of feeling uncomfortable for a little while. You can’t really have a huge ego in this sport. It’s crucial to acknowledge your shortcomings and work on them. Today, I will be walking into the track with him. I want him to smile and go full force in speed. And , telling me “ thank you”.

Success comes in pieces. You find something that works one week and apply it to the next. Eventually, all the pieces come together and make a great picture.
People unfamiliar with Endurance race or Track race often don’t understand that this is a team sport in every sense. Everyone knows that a driver has his pit crew, but that’s only a small fraction of the people needed to make his machine go.

His job as a driver is to get a sense of what the car feels like and feed the team my input. Together they are chasing after that half-a-10th of a second. In this sport, that can be the difference between first and 20th. Faster than the blink of an eye.

The construction of the car is one aspect of the operation, but practice is also key. When he is turning laps, he give feedback about how the car feels, where there are strong and where there ae weak. All of this is based on feel, so the challenge comes down to articulating things in very specific terms. As a driver that’s where your relationship with your crew chief is so important. You have to understand each other. He’s your head coach. He’s not in the car to feel the things you’re feeling, but if you can explain them well enough, he can instruct the road crew to make adjustments that will help us go faster.

The relationship between a driver and a sponsor is crucial and also pretty unique in pro sports. You literally owe these companies your livelihood, and you must represent them well if you want to keep driving their car. These machines and the teams that support them are expensive, and it’s on the driver to keep everybody happy. When you have companies that are investing millions and millions of dollars, you have to constantly think about how you can deliver value to them.

Sponsors fuel our sport .We all know what happens when we run out of fuel. We are dead in the water. We aren’t going anywhere.

A tack race is a series of decisions. Some are made as a team, and some are made by one on the fly. It’s the sum of those decisions that ultimately determines the outcome of the race.

But it’s important to note that there’s no feeling out process during a race. That’s what practice is for. From the second the green light drops it’s, Go hard straight ahead with maximum focus!

All out, every lap. Lap 1 needs to be just as fast and clean as others, and hopefully last 4. Not everyone can do that. It takes focus and persistence.
Maintaining that level of concentration is probably what grinds on you as much as anything else.
It’s so easy to mess up in one of these cars when you’re traveling at the speeds that we do. And mistakes can be very expensive and very dangerous, if you mess up, you crash and you are out. Zero chance of winning.

It’s very easy for a single detail to slip your mind. And when it does, that’s when you lose. 2 Years ago, I witnessed the disappointment in his face when there is mechanical issue on his car. That feeling was mixed, unsure to be happy to run over and hug him and said “ it’s going to be alright”.

Entire time, you need to stay completely focused on everything that is happening both inside your

When you’re in that situation, after a certain amount of time, it’s very easy for a single detail to slip your mind. And when it does, that’s when you lose.

He is willing to put up with all the hassles and distractions, though, because winning a race just feels that good.

I look back on S1K victory in 2015, and what stands out is one particular decision. He won it.

That decision was one of probably thousands his team and he made that week, but if they had made the wrong one things probably would have turned out much different. I’m still learning a lot about this sport, and that excites me. At the same time, I love that my past successes (and especially my past mistakes) have made it so I can now approach every track with confidence, because when I feel good about a racer, it’s contagious throughout my entire team. If he don’t win, I know it was just a thorny step on our climb to victory.

Every time on this circuit, they going to work hard to create a world-class, state-of-the-art car, down to the tiniest detail. He will compete against many of the brightest minds in the racing world. And he risk life and limb in a constant push to get closer to perfection.

But no one can stop him. Lets fly together through out 2017 to different circuits
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The automotive and Motorsport industries have long been at the forefront of brand development as they have a clear understanding of the marketing mix’s role in brand identity, and how important PR is in positioning the brand.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Some of the publicist out there may end up skewed or hitting the wrong buttons if one don’t understand how they align with the rest of the client’s marketing activities
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">In automotive a motoring publicist in this means knowing how tier suppliers fit into the supply chain and how they enable vehicle manufacturers to develop and deliver much of the technology you see in cars. <span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Hitting back as a Motorsport Publicist is by no means the most complicated of job ever, but there are a few things that I need to keep an eye on if I want to make sure they are sitting on top of the podium, doused in champagne at the end of every race. Leading two professional racer/biker in 2017 will be a great start for us.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The Motorsports Publicist helps deliver a premium level of support to the racers and race teams while collaborating with other Sponsors and potential brands. Yes, a job that is responsible for the coordination and implementation local Motorsports properties and initiatives and for providing idealization, planning, and logistics support to the racers and teams.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Always recognized female motoring blogger, found a niche in writing about female motoring. A familiar face in the room called media centre. Once again, coming back with another exciting calling.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I will be fed with a lot of awful information by the game. It might seem that sometimes I can drift it off and let other part of the experience play out by themselves that is not the case in motorsport.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Hitting sponsor’s targets could be like knocking at every doors and asking yourself “WHAT IS THEIR ROI?”. For the first few races they are going to be lagging behind the pack, but if I can make my sponsors happy, and by extension get some more money, I will be better positioned when it's time to start upgrading
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Everyone said managing one racer is hard. But, it is fun to manage a biker and a touring racer. I will need them both to be regularly finishing in the points if I want to conquer both series.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Motor racing is, after all, a cut throat business.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Qualifying
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The most important thing about qualifying is to make sure that I am not wasting my time. The clock's always ticking, so if my drivers are going slower than they have before, I would definitely cancel their laps and bring them back in for a tweak.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Always remember to try and complete the sponsor's challenge as well. Any qualifying laps that start before the clock hits zero will count, so a late challenge can often result in a better position if I have got their vehicle set up right.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">While the sponsor challenges only refer to a single car some of the time, it's important that both of the cars do well. If I start from the back of the pack then it's a pretty decent bet that my racers finish there as well.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Race day
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Race day isn't so much about my drivers as it is about you. They will do their best, but I need to set their strategy, get them into the pits at the right time, and make sure they only do stupid things when I tell them to.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It's also important to keep an eye on what other teams are doing. Of course that is always a girl’s job. If I am just behind an opponent but his tyres are likely to give out soon, there's no need to push. Wait for him to pit and I will take the place.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Controlling the pace of my racers is important as well. If I am well in the lead with a lap or two to go but I am worried about the state of their tyres, switch to a conserve strategy and I will likely make it to the end in one piece.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I will only push when I got a clear track ahead of me, either to increase the gap between the racer and the cars behind, or to get closer to the cars in front.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">And remember, don't just focus on one car, as tempting as it is. I will always need to get the best out of both of my drivers if I am going to get to the next championships.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The garage
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This is really where the races are won and lost. I can't stop one of my rivals from ramming into my driver’s rear wing on the first lap, but I can make sure your development budget is all being spent well.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Creating your own drivers rather than hiring them is a sensible way to go. It's not cheap, but it's a good plan all the same.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Obviously I will not don't push all of the sponsor’s cash into a single development track. I will need to make sure their cars / bikes are as well balanced as possible, and there's no point having a crack team of aerodynamics engineers if the rest of my team is crewed by idiots.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It's impossible to keep everyone happy, but try and make sure your approval ratings don't get too low with any specific group. It's all about striking the right balance, and if you can do that you're going to go far.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Driven by a passion for motorsports and desire to be the best … Who am I managing? You guys will find out real soon! They are podium finishers!They are my superstars . Love you to every bits J and W!

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">There are currently about hundreds official motorsport' circuits
and several hundred international race series worldwide. While some struggle
for their financial existence, many circuits and series still have a great
number of spectators and an extensive media coverage. The question here is,
what is the impact on car brands and their relationship with the customers?

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Technology developments

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Are you one of those people who are enthusiastic about
motorsports? If yes, you are part of a large community. Despite the climate and
environmental debate around cars over the past years, the love for motor
sports stays true. This is very much to the satisfaction of both operators,
participants and spectators.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This acceptance and enthusiasm of the general public is the
result of a decade’s long commitment between car makers and motorsport
committees who ambitiously revise and tweak motorsports’ rules with the
objective of advancing technology. In this way they create a sustainable and
credible external image which is also continually adjusted to be up-to-date and
trend setting.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Some technologies developed for motorsports have found their
way into our own vehicles. For example, the dual clutch transmission was
applied in motorsports by Porsche in the eighties. In the same way, the
high-performance capacitor based hybrid technology was first developed for
motorsports more recently.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">When Motorsports becomes marketing

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">There is also a question whether the investment of
participating in these races pays out. The sports car manufacturers usually
participate for two main reasons: testing and exposure. There is nowhere else
that can they recreate the extreme conditions and extreme load that is found in
endurance races. Sports performance is one of the key elements of a sports car
manufacturers external image and very much required for customer satisfaction.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Similarly, car manufacturers ask themselves how a successful
image can be built in a way that can be used for marketing campaigns that are
meaningful and credible to their customers. In sports, especially in
motorsports the problem is that on one hand while second-placed competitors
are spurned as just an also ran in the media, victories can also be quickly
forgotten.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Long-term participation and recurring wins

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It is really only through a successful long-term commitment
to motorsports that a sports car manufacturer can establish a worldwide brand
and continually reinforce its image as a car maker.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Let’s take Porsche again as an example: by splitting their
engagement to different race series (rally, endurance racing, several DTM
racing classes and Formula 1) and their continuous successes, Porsche advances
to all essential areas and has created a strong brand. This way Porsche is able
to acquire new customers buying Porsche cars.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">This makes it difficult for manufacturers who only make a
short term commitment to leverage this into a customer demand for their products.
It is also hard to build customer satisfaction thanks to their meeting the
aspirations they have created with their sports activity.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Is the presence and the success of an automaker in
motorsports series (DTM, Formula 1, …) important for you?

Heat and humidity are nothing new in Malaysia. The physical
challenge of driving in the Malaysia Circuit is often overlooked, because it’s
not obvious to the spectator watching on TV. If you have been to other circuits
in the world, you will know Sepang has always been one of the toughest races for
most drivers and media. With ambient temperatures of 36 degrees and 80%
humidity, the drivers lose around 3 litres of body fluid in sweat. Oh, and then
there’s incredible tropical rainstorms that can bubble up out of nowhere.

Do you know the track of Sepang at least has the two 850
metre straights for the drivers to rest and for some air to blow in? Drivers
have various tricks they use to get some cooling. One told me that he lifts one
hand off the wheel on the back straight and the other on the pit straight,
turning his palm and back of the hand to face the airflow, which sends jets of
cool air down his sleeves and makes a significant difference.
How to ride a MotoGP bike on slick tyres on a wet track?

It’s raining season.Rain can produce peculiar results in motorcycle racing; with power more of a disadvantage, in the wet rider skill becomes even more important.
The media professionals such as journalists, photographers

"Subaru and its customers have a deep connection to pets. Eight out of 10 Subaru owners are pet owners, and our brand continues to support the causes and initiatives that our customers care about," said Alan Bethke, vice president, marketing at Subaru of America. "The new 'Dog Tested. Dog Approved.' campaign puts the Barkley family in the driver's seat to help celebrate this shared love."

The family of Golden Labs last appeared in the 2013 'Meet the Barkleys' television and YouTube segments. The campaigns are humor driven, showing canine drivers and passengers taking the roles of human Subaru owners as they deal with life's challenge.

OK! The Subaru Forester under the tagline "Dog tested. Dog approved." Dogs are shown "driving" and even parallel parking their vehicles to tout Subaru's pup-friendly brand message. Although many of the partnerships feature specific Subaru vehicles, Subaru likes to keep a more holistic focus on Subaru's marketing.. Forester happens to be the lead vehicle in these [dog] spots, but it's really about the brand and connecting with the consumer to let them know the Subaru Automaker care about their passion points.

Love,it’s what makes a Subaru and a very effective ad campaign for dog lovers.
Years ago Subaru began their Love campaign. By tapping into the power of love, they have doubled market share and exceeded eleven other car makers on a list of best selling cars over the states.

Instead of showing the lifestyle trend, Subaru has tapped into the strongest human emotion by showing Love. Not only did Subaru feature the Barkleys in the brand's television spots, but it also showed the family in digital video sharing, digital display, social, and points of purchase. The car company even created a specific landing page for the furry family, which people could visit to learn more about each member.

The campaign also had a positive impact on the target audience's perception of Subaru, Bethke adds, and generated a ton of social conversations. “They keep talking about it,” he says. Furthermore, Bethke adds that Subaru enjoyed “record-breaking” sales year-over-year as a cumulative result of several marketing efforts, including those from the “Dog Tested, Dog Approved” campaign.

The automaker, a unit of Fuji Heavy Industries, posted an all-time U.S. sales record last year, with 582,675 vehicles sold, a 13.4% lift over 2014. December was the company’s best month ever, after 49 months of year-over-year monthly increases. The brand certainly benefited from sustained interest in crossovers, with strong sales of vehicles like Forester, Outback, and Crosstrek.

Bethke believes the “Dog tested” campaign has helped boost sales at Subaru, which has been riding a streak of sales and market share growth since 2007, just before the campaign started. At the end of 2015, Subaru’s market share stood at 3.3 percent, up from 1.4 percent in 2008, according to the Automotive News Data Center.

The spots are “captivating, unique and disruptive,” Bethke said. “They did what we were looking at them to do, which is show Subaru as a brand that is around pets.”

The campaign works because it is authentic. It reflects what Subaru stands for based on its work with animal groups and its customer base of outdoor enthusiasts and animal lovers.

“I get two or three phone calls a month where people … say, “Thanks for doing these ads; I really appreciate it. I’m going to buy a Subaru,'”. “It’s crazy, but that’s what they do.”

A successful campaign for automaker, an outbreak on sales and the love for animal lovers.

Everyone knows Honda since as early 1950s. With Honda’s great placing in sustaining it brand identity, logo and a slogan powerful enough that catches your thought “ The Power of Dreams”. The brand has sustain a great position in the global automotive industry. In order for a brand to taste the success of being branded and wanted worldwide, it has to establish a powerful and consistent brand identity.

As of today, Honda has grown into one of the world most well-known automobile brand that capture the hearts and minds of the target markets. This Japanese megabrand has designed and engineered such a strong brand identity with the only H logo and we instantly can identify with the brand. Such powerful brand identity has indeed created a great brand recall and high market demand for Honda world-wide.

Honda’s famous slogan “The Power of Dreams“ has a great brand identity. A slogan is what bring your company to mind, but are intended to be meaningful and long lasting. The founder Soichiro Honda’s firm believe in striving for limitless dreams with powerful passion. This has been put into our today’s greatest slogan “The Power of Dreams”.

In 1986, Honda dedicated a luxury automobile brand which is Acura, it has exhibits the similarities to the renowned Honda brand identity in its brand logo design, colours and more. The Acura brand logo design which consists of a stylised ‘A’ in an edgy circle emblem, resembles an inverted ‘H’ of the original Honda brand logo. This again, is a perfect example of how Honda intelligently imparts consistency in its powerful and avant-garde brand identity for its sub-brands to garner increased brand memorability among target markets worldwide.

Ultimately, the brand identity of Honda has led to its continuous growth in becoming the most branded, wanted and lovable brand worldwide.
Recently, I tested with my 1.3 Perodua Myvi for city for uphill run.

So, is the fuel “right” for your car? Shell V-Power Racing contains powerful cleaning technology, developed to help enhance everyday driving performance and responsiveness. These cleaning components are designed to prevent the build-up of power-robbing inlet valve deposits and to help remove those which may have been left behind by other fuels.

Formulated for enhancing power delivery, the Shell V-Power Racing is a high-octane fuel (minimum RON97) designed to help maximise the performance of many modern engines. It can be used in any old or new car designed to run on unleaded petrol. Its formulations are designed to help cars operate at their best, using its powerful cleaning agents and Friction Modification Technology (FMT). The cleaning agents are formulated to control the build-up of deposits in new cars and to assist in removing deposits in older cars, which have accumulated them during their lifetime and are also prone to “knock” or “pinking”.

I Hear You Knocking

Also known as detonation and, in its lesser form as ping, knock is uncontrolled combustion occurring ahead of the sparkplug-initiated flame front. Trace ping is annoying rather than harmful; heavy knock, especially at high revs, can quickly destroy a piston. Neither is indicative of MBT, Minimum advance for Best Torque, the optimal ignition setting for a particular combination of engine speed, load and fuel.
Earlier on, I hear knocking sound the moment I rev up to 3000rpm. Now, I can absolutely say bye- bye to the knocking sound. The wonders of this FUEL. Awhsome!!!!
These days, our engines' electronic control units select optimal timing. (And I shudder to think what many modern drivers would do with a manual spark advance lever.) What's more, modern engines have knock sensors listening for incipient ping. If detected, they control back ever so slightly on ignition timing to eliminate it even before it's audible to the likes of us.

Octane is Knock Resistance

And if you're using the right fuel, that knock sensor rarely has anything to detect. Pure and simple, a petrol's octane rating is a measure of its resistance to knock as compared to a particular pair of hydrocarbons. Isooctane, an especially knock-resistant variety, is 100 on the octane scale; at the other extreme, n-Heptane is 0.

The Uphill!

Everybody knows the trick of an automatic transmission car. They AUTO shift GEAR! At times, they shift at the wrong timing because of the low cc issue. However, the fuel itself gave my car a signification power increase while going uphill. Magically, it gave the car sufficient power to do anything.

Meanwhile, when the fuel gave the car tremendous power increase, it also effect the fuel consumption. Surprisingly, it lasted me 1 week of full tank. Yes, I traveled up and down the city on daily basis and it does gave me the fulfillment power on lane shifting as well.

How can I not love this FUEL from Shell? It also gave me the full satisfaction the moment I got into my car. Maybe the fact that, I do know it has the powerful cleaning technology and magnification power increased on my car. Of course, I encouraged everyone to try it. Doesn’t matter, on track or even on the road.

Uphill, downhill, city drive…it gave the full satisfaction and it does put a smile on my face.

Hardcore racers may feel the notion of a paddock-turned-gallery is a stupid notion. But in the arena of professional racing, marketing grabs onto every opportunity, remember, companies are paying huge amounts of money to compete and there's a good reason to do so, winning races has sold cars since our automotive beginnings.

Soaking under the hot sun in Sepang International Circuit, along with hundreds of racers, crews and media members. Imagine, looking in from this dazzling big picture of every races by getting closer on how paddock life is?

First, we all love the media centre! That’s where you see the people getting busy for briefing or bustling along behind all media. However, the paddock is where the team meet race after race and it really a place where almost everyone knows the name of everyone else.

Lamborghini Super Trofeo, MSS, S1K and etc etc seems huge and impenetrable but when a paddock pass or media pass beeps you into the middle of the circuit…its like entering a small community. A community that includes people from different races, background, mother tongue and all of whom come together to work as a team and race and race and race.

Some members of the race family will even cross over into lifelong friendships away from the track. After all, these are the people who are prepared to sit next to you on long-haul flights time and time again, are people who we often spend more time with than our actual families...

Everyone has a job to do but after many years of working in the sport, most people know each other so people are often nodding hello as they walk from place to place.

As the saying probably goes, you can take the person out of the paddock but you can't take the paddock out of the person.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I was at Sepang last year, where the pit lane reverberates to the sounds of two dozen MotoGP bikes warming up for the preseason test for the year.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Despite the criticism and the global economics going down into the drain, MotoGP isn’t in the bad shape. There are more bikes on the grid than at any time since the 90s, when tobacco companies was the major sponsors for almost all the events and to individual racers.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Behind every MotoGP there is something I believe to be called “Two Wheels Good”.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">A car has big wings to help it through the corners, but they slow it down on the straights. Bikes don't have any wings so they don't have anything like the grip in the corners. The snag with the acceleration of a motorbike is that it has a tremendous desire to wheelie and flip backwards.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">They are flying on the ground. They are like light aircraft, they row into corners, the front dives down under braking, and the back dives down under acceleration.<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The brakes on a MotoGP bike are excellent with a braking force at 1.1 and 1.2g, but nothing like as good as a track car which obviously has four wheels and four brake discs.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Now we know that a bike has its own pros and cons but why the coverage and publicity for Superbike coverage is not as great as F1 and other tiny mini track races?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Good weather is a proven draw for any outdoors sporting event, and motorcycle racing is no different. Great racing, great riders, home talent to cheer for, and yet the stands are only sparsely filled. How come WSBK is in the doldrums?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The ugly truth, one which the racing classicists do not like to face, is that professional motorcycle racing, just like every other form of professional sport, is an entertainment product. As boxing promoter Barry Hearn puts it, "Sport is soap opera for men." It is unscripted drama based on a competitive activity, with the drama consisting of the outcome of the contest being unknown. It is a freeform narrative, the story being told second by second, lap by lap as the race unfolds. We only find out how the story ends once the checkered flag falls, though with some races the plot can seem pretty much set in stone as soon as the lights go out. And the best thing about racing is that two weeks later, they repeat the whole thing all over again. Each individual story is part of a larger tale, which leads to the championship, which in turn becomes a much bigger collection of stories, concerning titles, rivalries and legacies.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">To be interesting, though, stories need characters. Without someone to root for, or, more importantly, to root against, there is no reason to take an interest in who wins and who loses. A classicist will say that choosing a rider to support should be based on a belief in their talent. That, of course, is nonsense. Judging the talent of a rider is something which is incredibly hard. Look at how many riders have been written off after a bad season, or riders who have gone unnoticed until they turned up in a better team and on a better bike. For the most part, motorcycle racing has fallen into the latter camp, with star riders who understood their own role, and how to create and manage their own stardom.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">The trouble with WSBK is that these characters have nothing to contrast themselves to. Almost every rider on the grid is likable in one way or another. There are no antiheroes, no riders for the fans to hate, no one to serve as a communal focus for the fans of other riders.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">What World Superbikes needs is not a hero, but an antihero. The fans need someone to root against, someone fast enough that the others, potential heroes, need to stretch themselves to beat. Creating an antihero may be easier than creating a hero, but it is still not an easy job. They need to be capable of rubbing people up the wrong way, of saying the wrong thing, of antagonizing the fans and the other riders. Fans should automatically interpret their words and actions in the worst possible way, however they were meant when delivered. That requires a certain type of personality.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Can you create characters from professional sportsmen and women? Of course you can, if managed properly, without questioning the extreme skill they have in their chosen art, the hysteria which surrounds them was created almost out of thin air, and created by design.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">It is, of course, much easier to control the cast of characters in a sport when you control all of the championship. When individual competitors do not require millions of dollars of equipment and support staff just to make it to the start of the contest. The corporate interests involved make it much harder to create controversy, to generate talking points. Sponsors with a few honorable exceptions, such as Monster want riders who are famous, rather than notorious. They want someone they can present to their business partners without fear of them saying something unpalatable.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">There is no need to intervene in the actual racing, other than to ensure it is seen to be scrupulously fair. What matters is off the track: in the media, among the fans, via social media.With some thought, and a bit of ingenuity, one could grow World Superbikes again by telling a better story, creating brighter characters than what we see today.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Doing so would not impact MotoGP, but would help bolster it, perhaps even boost it. The very rivalry between the two series could be leveraged to generate interest there have always been WSBK fans and MotoGP fans, so why not pit those fans against each other, via some proxy contest between the riders?
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

The car world is brilliant miscellaneous place in the universe. Everyone has their own reasons for liking what they want. The quote “Eat Sleep JDM” bring a massive impact in the motorsports industry. The meaning of JDM is Japanese Domestic Market. How does JDM influence Malaysian’s car scene?

Let’s talk about the heart transplant that often happened down in Malaysia. The engine over engine. A small modification action of here and there will multiply into big savings once the car is on the road. There have been some crazy people who want torque more than speed, they input the YRV engine into a 1.0 Perodua Kelisa. From 1000cc to 1300cc Turbo, you are likely to see the YRV turbo comes with power and excellent speed for a car that weight approximately a ton. Or more superbly known for crazy JDM lovers on liking a SR20 in the chassis of KE70.

Take my argument to the next level, JDM is all about varieties. Growing up with DC2 and EVO IV, learning the Japs can be crazy enough to have 4WD in a sedan car. Which makes no sense to me back then. The technological masterpiece of improvement on every generation of Nissan Skyline GTR proven the facts that the Japs knows what their customers want in worldwide. JDM…the varieties basket of Rear-Wheel drive, All-Wheel drive, Front-engined, Mid-Engined. Which means that, there is always something for everyone.

We may complain the price hike on cars and petrol but JDM enthusiastic are way too hard core. Willing to go through huge financial hurdles just to own that one ride. A track car with daily driver is far and distant dream for many. Owning any of the JDM car isn’t a dream in Malaysia. With approximately RM 65000, you could own a Nissan Fairlady 350z. Averagely, RM 4000/year for roadtax. With mild modification, 19’ of rims, nonetheless, tyres could easily cost up to another RM 3000 +- for 4 pieces. Hence, the rebuilt and maintenance will kill one that living under cost. However, majorities’ diehard JDM enthusiastic will take the risk.

The diversities of a JDM owner on owning a 350z could easily fall into a temptation of Veilside bodykit to Rocketbunny, it is just like looking at your wife changing into different outfit on daily basis. If you are hardcore, you will pay for it. Where are those bodykits from? None other than, Japan.

While the rest of the world was driving in straight lines or mooing their way uphill, the Japs were being insane by racing downhill /uphill. A subtle different, but when racing with gravity pushing you along, the car always feels on the edge of losing control.

We, Malaysian literally adapted the meaning of Touge from the land of the rising sun. The obsession of JDM will continue to run the blood of Motorsports.
When I first learnt about traveling to another town, suburb,

In Malaysia, there are different kinds of driving styles.
For instance, in the state of Malacca,
approximately 150km away from KL city, the drivers drive at a slower pace. They
don’t beat the RED traffic light, they don’t fancy over taking. They generally
take driving really slowly.

In the state of Penang,
for some reason the drivers drive around like they own the road. Indicators are
obsolete, consideration for other drivers is all but down the drain. Traffic
lights are very much lighting decorations.

Then back in KL city
is where all drivers from all the states of Malaysia gather. So you have a
compilation of inconsiderate, mush for brains drivers. Everything learnt from
driving school goes to waste as nothing can prepare you for driving on city
roads other than experience. Too many people lack common sense which in turn
leads to accidents and of course road rage. “I am in the right, everyone else is just driving wrong” mentally
seems to have taken a foothold in the minds of today’s drivers.

From the outside looking, it rather sounds and look glamorous because of the car reviews, gifts from the industry, and exclusive excess and glamorous pictures with the racers.

First of all, all of that is true. To some extent, I am not going to patronise anyone and claim it is a physically demanding, mentally and stressful job because it is isn’t. It is the easier passion that I am indulging in a lifelong fascination.

How does I start my day? So, in any day of my typical work that involves my blogging coverage, it involved driving to somewhere absolutely hot, running up and down to get the best shot, enjoying box meal, either taxi ride or driving all day long and the write about the car when I have finished, right?

Lol!!! NO, not just that. Being a motoring blogger is like taking your passion and your blog to the serious level of review. Like any job there more involvement. As I was once the official interviewer for Sepang International Circuit to all the Racers/Riders.

Once, I had checked in to SIC or places I need to run the car for review. I often have an hour to kill before thing get started. I always make sure I update my social media to get the ATTENTION “hello, I am reviewing a Subaru or Hello, I am at SIC as MEDIA”.

Usually, I have no restriction on how long I can occupied the car unless otherwise. As I sat behind the wheels with excitement, I don’t normally re use the route I uses for the previous review. I have to look at the car, the history, and the unique selling point of the car before I choose my route. That allows me to feature every details of the car.

Unlike Taxi Ride during the race at the circuit, I have got to second guess what the key points I will need to feature in the review. You will be only in the car for max 1 lap. That is where you will need to feel the suspensions, the tyres, the aerodynamics and etc etc etc.

While I was driving a car for review, I will constantly making mental notes on how the car ride and handles, tones about engines and gear shifts ratios as well as the car’s characteristics. Thus, with electronics, what all the buttons and knobs do, how the seat go forward and fold, what the visibilities like or …..It go on and on and on and on. As a blogger and we don’t forget update the social media status.

Once the event or review ended, I will be crafting 650 words and beyond. It is easy enough to experience Motoring Journalist but it wasn’t easy for me as together I have my actual job to do.

Publish, Planning, PR, Photography, Press Release…These are my check through needed every time, every day. I review whenever I feel like it and if there are PRs involvements.

Yes, I mentioned I was once the SIC official Interviewer. Guess what, it was the toughest job ever. I walked into the pit, waving at the racer with a big smile approach. As they need to hit the lane for practice laps and I have to take up approximately 15 minutes of their time for an interview just for media publishing. It wasn’t easy as I can see how eager they want to start their engine and head off instead of publicity.

Why do I blog about this because if you think being a motoring blogger is glamorous. There is no fast lane to be Jeremy Clarkson. If what I have described sounds like something you would like to do,go for it and Be the real Motoring guy!
