SHELL Lego Collection Moment - When It Clicks,It Sticks

A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place,
Thus, a bunch of friends is something that fills my life with SMILE.

The definition of a friend has changed in today’s technologically connected world. Today we may think we have many “friends.” It is true: we do enjoy the ability to be informed and to stay current with what is happening in the lives of many of our acquaintances as well as current and former friends and even people we have not met personally whom we call our friends.

Time and distance do nothing to diminish the bond we have with these kinds of friends.

What draw us together? Common interests. This probably ties us closer to our friends than many would like to admit. When our interests diverge and we can find nothing to enjoy jointly, time spent together tends to rapidly diminish. Not that we can't still care deeply about friends with whom we no longer share common interests, but it's probably uncommon for such friends to interact on a regular basis.

Common values. Though not necessarily enough to create a friendship, if values are too divergent, it's difficult for a friendship to thrive.

Equality. If one friend needs the support of the other on a consistent basis such that the person depended upon receives no benefit other than the opportunity to support and encourage, while the relationship may be significant and valuable, it can't be said to define a true friendship.

A commitment to your happiness. A true friend is consistently willing to put your happiness before your friendship. It's said that "good advice grates on the ear," but a true friend won't refrain from telling you something you don't want to hear, something that may even risk fracturing the friendship, if hearing it lies in your best interest. A true friend will not lack the mercy to correct you when you're wrong. A true friend will confront you with your drinking problem as quickly as inform you about a malignant-looking skin lesion on your back that you can't see yourself.

Not asking you to place the friendship before your principles. A true friend won't ask you to compromise your principles in the name of your friendship or anything else. Ever.

A good influence. A true friend inspires you to live up to your best potential, not to indulge your basest drives.

Once we are done building our Lego set from Shell, I don’t want the moment to end... I told him, I the ultimate stage of building Lego, and he replied “let’s bake LEGO CAKE”. He supported me for the past 10 years, there is no way I could repay this friendship. I could not ask for more. All I could do is being a best friend that will stick with you no matter what the situation is and you can always count on me being on your side.

A true friend may have many different good qualities, but the basic qualities that all good friends share with one another are the most important.

Although true friendships can begin very quickly, they do take time to build into lasting and valuable relationships. Many people have said good friends are hard to find and even harder to keep, but everyone needs good friends even if they are far and few between. A true friend can have many different good qualities, but the qualities that add up to true friendship may be the most important.

If you have a few good friends, you are lucky, and if you take a closer look at the qualities that your friends have that make them true pals you will find that they share an essential group of traits, values and beliefs that all add up to honesty and good character. People can have many good qualities, but the traits that your true friends have are all tied together by a core of basic qualities that all good friends share with one another. 

I am so grateful for Shell Lego Collection for such wondering holiday get together moment.
