Toy in his meal bowl

I have no idea what it is all about. But Buddy decided to feed his lovely rat, some of his food. When we left for work we will feed him. When we returned home we realize this naughty fella have done something special.
He will make sure his rat shares his food,sleep together on his pillow and during bath time he will bring his rat along.

WHAT does that mean? I dont know.
