GT ACADEMY x NISSAN

Back in those days, no one would ever imagine that Nissan would venture their business and interest into GAMING WORLD. 

The changing trend and market brings out the new challenge in this collaboration. Introducing the GT Academy. The GT Academy is a driver discovery/development program started in 2008 through a collaboration between Gran Turismo and Nissan.

GT Academy is a unique programme offering Playstation gamers the chance to move from virtual racing on Gran Turismo to the reality of being a professional racing driver. The success of GT Academy around the world is demonstrated by the careers winning entrants go on to forge in the tough cut-and-thrust of competitive motorsport.

First launched in 2008, GT Academy was designed to identify gamers with the most natural racing talent in the virtual world, before working with them to transform them into a professional racing driver in the real world. Selection is initially made through times set on a customized stage within the Gran Turismo game, now in its sixth generation. The fastest gamers then have the chance at a Regional Final event, before the very best head to Race Camp where they are assessed on their fitness, mental attitude and car control. Ultimately the winner gets a seat behind the wheel of a Nissan 370Z GT race car.

Training to be a professional racer is much more than getting behind the wheel and pushing pedals. Yes, because I know how it feels. Because of the pressure, consistency and etc etc. Thou, I am not a race car driver but I know full well how its like being a training Rally Co-driver.

They prepare the contestants of Nissan GT Academy uses the mobile Nismo Lab to help them improve their in-car performance.Physical fitness is important, because of the G force will not happen in front of the game console. Feeling plays a very important role too being a race car driver. Your sensitivity allows you to feel every inch of the car.

The Nismo driver can now pick any track in the world and without having to travel, drive all they want.Unfortunately, they do not hold any of their event down in Asia. I believe, it will bring thousand of crowds to this special unique event.
